Senior Water Resources Engineer
Location: Prince George's County, MD
Our client, a well-established engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their team in the Greenbelt, MD area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take the lead on water resources projects, manage a talented team, and work with a diverse range of clients in the public sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and complete complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
- Design water resources improvements, including stream restoration, dam upgrades, and stormwater management retrofits
- Prepare and obtain approvals for construction documents
- Handle client communications and manage relationships
- Oversee construction observation and documentation efforts
- Manage engineering/CAD technicians, surveyors, and sub-consultants
- Oversee the preparation of construction documents
Required Skills and Experience:
- Professional engineer's license in the state of Maryland (or the ability to obtain a Maryland license within three (3) months of hire)
- Seven (7) years of water resources experience, with demonstrated expertise in the full project lifecycle including feasibility, design, permitting, and construction management
- Strong knowledge of water resources project execution, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, and environmental regulations
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with permitting processes in Montgomery, Prince George's, and Howard Counties, as well as with Maryland State Highway Administration and the Maryland Department of the Environment
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with Microsoft Project and ArcGIS
- Resident of Prince George's County (preferred)
