The company noticed a space in the niche of parking garage as there weren't enough qualified parking consultants so set out to become the premier repair and restoration partner on these complex and rewarding projects.
Although all the work is currently parking garages, they are looking to diversifying over the next couple of years but want to ensure they don't deteriorate the quality until they have the right employees in place. In recent years, they've experienced exponential growth are actively expanding nationwide.
Role Overview
The company is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of concrete repair, restoration or construction experience with experience in performing forensic and restoration engineering. The Senior Strutural Engineer will be required to conduct surveys and evaluates existing structures for maintenance and repair needs, reviews calculations, structural drawings, and construction documents and related questions as required. A strong technical background with an eagerness to attends technical seminars and training programs to ensure subject matter expertise is up to date and honed
Key Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Experience:
- Possession of a P.E. License with over 7 years of relevant experience in concrete construction, repair, restoration, or forensic investigation.
- Alternatively, 12+ years of relevant concrete design experience (without a P.E. license) and 7+ years of relevant concrete restoration/forensic experience.
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in performing forensic and restoration engineering duties on various types of existing parking structures.
- Preferred experience with non-destructive testing equipment, such as ground penetrating radar, half-cell potential, and similar diagnostic tools.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building materials, equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong time management, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- High technical aptitude and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time.
- Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the evolving needs of the role.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
