Role Overview
The company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Illinois. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects involving steel, concrete, timber, and masonry materials. This role includes field investigations, structural analysis and design, and interaction with clients and other design and construction professionals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations and document existing conditions.
- Prepare reports, cost estimates, and scope documents.
- Design and/or analyze various structural systems (experience with vintage materials/designs a plus).
- Prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications, utilizing latest technologies (AutoCAD, BIM).
- Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
- Provide construction management services such as shop drawing review, field observation, change review, payment application certification.
- Desire to work on projects with a wide range of scope and budget
Key Qualifications
- 5-10 years of industry experience in structural engineering.
- Licensure in Illinois is preferrable
- Extensive experience with a variety of materials and building types.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 - $140,000, based on experience.
