Job Description
A well-established engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Structural Professional Engineer (Structural/Civil) to join its team. This role involves conducting organised structural calculations and managing all engineering and design aspects of projects from initial analysis through construction documentation. The ideal candidate should be results-driven with a strong technical background.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related engineering field
- 5+ years of experience in a consulting engineering firm
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Pennsylvania
- Proven experience in steel, concrete, and masonry design
- Expertise in developing construction documents, including structural engineering plans, sections, details, and specifications
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes (ACI 318-14, ASCE 7-16, AISC 360-16, IBC 2018, OSHA, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in structural analysis software (RISA package) and drafting tools (Revit & AutoCAD)
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent communication and task management skills
Preferred:
- 7-10 years of industry experience
- Prior experience in industrial facility design
- P.E. license in Ohio and West Virginia is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project development, ensuring compliance with industry standards, budgets, and deadlines
- Collaborate with designers to develop project modelling, design plans, and construction documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth
- Present technical calculations and findings to clients with clarity and professionalism
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors
- Conduct site visits to assess existing structures, verify field conditions, and document necessary data
- Perform structural engineering calculations (steel, concrete, masonry, etc.) and design packages
- Conduct structural damage assessments and prepare determination letters for official records
- Define the scope for structural engineering portions of project proposals and cost estimates
