Role overview:
- They are looking for a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer, minimum 10 years' experience, who has a strong grasp on project management, business skills and a high level of technical proficiency. The required 10 years' experience should include but is not limited to expansion, renovation and rehabilitation of parking garages as well as other existing structures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience in restoration and comprehensive understanding of rehabilitation and the construction industry.
- Skilled with historical construction materials and systems.
- Adept at reviewing and interpreting both modern and historical structural drawings.
- Proficient in performing visual and hands-on assessments, and in creating condition assessment reports that include observations, conclusions, recommendations, prioritization of repair options, and cost estimates.
- Knowledgeable in various destructive and non-destructive testing techniques for concrete, steel, and timber.
- Capable of preparing design drawings and specifications, providing bidding services, and conducting construction phase services such as site visits, field reports, project meetings, submittal reviews, payment application reviews, and ensuring contractor compliance with design intent.
- Experienced in project management, including client coordination, team coordination, and project control (scheduling, budgeting, design quality, and profitability).
- Skilled in structural analysis through hand calculations and computer modeling to verify the capacity of existing structures or design reinforcements.
- Proficient in the structural analysis and rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
- Knowledgeable in researching and implementing building codes.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with decision-makers at all levels within an organization and with a diverse range of clients, including condo owners/managers/boards, commercial property owners, and owner representatives.
- Active participant in professional organizations and networking events.
- Experienced in mentoring and training junior staff.
