Job Summary
We are seeking a Site/Civil Engineer to join a collaborative team in New York City or Melville, NY. In this role, you will play a key part in planning, designing, and permitting civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. You'll have the opportunity to gain experience in site/civil engineering design for various projects, including mixed-use developments, shopping centres, residential areas, higher education campuses, federal projects, and more, all within a dynamic and continuous learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and modifying various engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data, considering their impact on project planning and design.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus.
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, along with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgement capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work well in a collaborative team environment.
