Position: Senior Project Manager - Federal
Location: Virginia Beach
Role Overview: As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and manage multi-discipline projects of moderate to large scope involving architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design. You will mentor and oversee Project Managers, ensuring project success through leadership and supervision of project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring effective communication and adherence to federal processes and criteria.
- Develop and present projects to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders through all project stages.
- Coordinate with federal clients for successful project completion, including new construction and renovation.
- Facilitate professional relationships between federal clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Support federal marketing and business development activities.
- Prepare contracts and fee proposals, participate in contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with quality control policies and procedures.
- Manage project planning, budgeting, and objectives.
- Oversee and mentor Project Managers.
Project Responsibilities:
- Monitor project scope and schedule, providing weekly progress reports to federal clients.
- Maintain project documentation and prepare effective project deliverables.
- Facilitate project team meetings, reviewing scope, progress, and coordination issues.
- Review RFI and shop drawing submittal responses.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Perform project closeout and archiving tasks.
- Conduct periodic site visits during construction.
Education, Technology, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, interior design, or planning preferred.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Interior Designer preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
- Understanding of sustainable design principles with LEED AP accreditation preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneDrive.
- Experience with Visual Planning, AIA Contract Documents, Newforma Project Center, and MS 365 Apps is desirable.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in an engineering or multi-discipline architectural and engineering firm.
- Knowledge of A/E industry and federal market terms.

- Ability to mentor Project Managers and develop new business.

- Demonstrated leadership within and outside the firm.
- Ability to prepare effective and concise documents and make presentations.
- Possess technical precision, creative design skills, and expertise to negotiate complex proposals and contracts.
- Ability to travel and obtain a US Government-issued Secret level Security Clearance.
- Ability to access military installations globally.
