We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead complex projects.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of plumbing and fire protection systems for a wide range of projects. You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with clients and other disciplines, and ensure all designs meet regulatory standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and engineering of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, and other building types.
- Oversee project development from concept to construction, ensuring designs meet all building codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate plumbing and fire protection systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
- Review and approve project drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff, fostering professional growth within the team.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements in plumbing and fire protection engineering.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure installations meet design specifications and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a related field
- PE license is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design, preferably within an MEP engineering firm.
- Strong knowledge of NYC building codes, NFPA standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and project teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
