Position Overview:
My client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced mechanical systems within state-of-the-art data centers. This role emphasizes HVAC and Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) systems, requiring extensive experience in thermal and fluid dynamics, with a focus on product design and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing systems that optimize manufacturability and operational efficiency, particularly for skidded solutions, server racks, and conveyance structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage reference designs for highly efficient and reliable HVAC and DLC systems tailored for data centers.
- Perform thermal analysis, flow simulations, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to enhance system performance.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor) to create 3D models, technical drawings, and system layouts.
- Oversee the development of BOMs and assembly instructions for manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cooling performance and reduce energy consumption.
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC, thermal management, and fluid dynamics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor) with at least 3 years of practical experience.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and CFD principles.
- Demonstrated experience in designing mechanical systems for manufacturing and large-scale implementations.
- Experience with Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) systems and advanced cooling technologies.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Mechanical Engineer (ME) certification.
- Proven track record working with data centers or high-performance computing environments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for driving innovation and leading projects from start to finish.
