Overview:
A growing renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Manager, Real Estate to oversee the development and management of real estate assets for its renewable energy portfolio across the United States. This role involves leading a team of real estate professionals to ensure the successful delivery of utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery storage projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in site control, title curative, legal contract review, and real estate support for project financing efforts. This position also contributes to the broader strategic direction and execution of the company's growing portfolio, upholding integrity, consistency, and alignment with company values and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all real estate efforts related to project financing and tax equity processes, including coordination of due diligence, title curative work, and real estate documentation.
Interface with landowners, attorneys, surveyors, utilities, title companies, and other key project stakeholders to resolve complex real estate issues.
Develop and manage budgets and timelines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of real estate components.
Negotiate land agreements and manage transactions to ensure favorable and secure terms.
Review and manage site control documents, title commitments, ALTA surveys, Phase 1 ESAs, and other due diligence materials.
Provide oversight and mentorship to the real estate team, including assigning tasks, offering guidance, and conducting performance reviews.
Represent the company in public settings such as zoning hearings, town hall meetings, and community events.
Stay current on industry best practices and innovations to continually improve real estate processes.
Support internal stakeholders across teams to ensure successful project development and delivery.
Qualifications:
Strong background in energy infrastructure and real estate transactions.
Passion for renewable energy, with experience in utility-scale solar, wind, or battery storage projects preferred.
Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, finance, energy, law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Excellent negotiation, contract review, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams.
Comfortable presenting real estate updates and issues to senior leadership.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in managing legal and contractual documents.
Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites; valid driver's license required.
Preferred Certifications & Associations:
Active member of AAPL (RL, RPL, or CPL certification preferred)
Active Notary license
Involvement in relevant industry associations such as SEIA
