A specialised engineering consultancy firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior High Voltage Engineer to lead and contribute to a variety of high-profile projects.
Job Summary
The Senior High Voltage Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of high voltage (HV) electrical systems. The successful candidate will lead project teams, provide technical expertise, and ensure that all HV projects meet industry standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Analysis: Develop and review designs for high voltage substations, transmission lines, and other HV electrical systems.
Project Management: Lead HV engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs and implementations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Client Liaison: Work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide regular updates, and deliver solutions that exceed their expectations.
Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HV equipment and systems.
Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and project proposals.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve service delivery.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or further specialization in HV engineering would be good to have
Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in high voltage engineering, with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex HV projects
Licenses/Certifications: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or eligibility for CPEng registration with Engineers Australia.
