Job Description
They are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience working with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and a proven track record of managing client relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead and oversee geotechnical projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project goals are met within the specified timeline and budget.
- Client Relations:Serve as the primary point of contact for TxDOT and other clients, fostering strong, long-lasting relationships and ensuring their needs and expectations are consistently exceeded.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring high standards of geotechnical analysis, design, and construction.
- Site Investigation: Plan and execute geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Analysis and Design: Perform geotechnical analyses for foundation design, slope stability, earth retention systems, and pavement design.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with significant experience working on TxDOT projects.
- Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Skills: Strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills. Proficient in geotechnical software and familiar with the latest industry standards and practices.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
