Senior Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Environmental Scientist (Vapor Intrusion Specialist)

We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Environmental Scientist with over 8 years of experience in vapor intrusion to lead and support site characterization and remediation projects for a variety of industrial, commercial, and municipal clients.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Specialist in vapor intrusion, you will be responsible for leading complex site investigations and remediation efforts, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the successful implementation of vapor intrusion mitigation systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead vapor intrusion assessments, overseeing soil vapor, indoor air, groundwater, and subslab vapor sample collection and analysis to identify potential risks to human health and the environment.
- Develop and implement vapor intrusion investigation strategies, ensuring comprehensive site characterization and effective risk mitigation in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Design, implement, and optimize vapor intrusion mitigation technologies, such as soil vapor extraction (SVE), air sparging, and sub-slab depressurization systems.
- Interpret and present complex environmental data, develop detailed site conceptual models, and identify sources and exposure pathways for vapor intrusion.
- Prepare and review technical reports, workplans, and remediation plans, focusing on vapor intrusion risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and lead junior staff, helping them navigate technical challenges while ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the work of subcontractors, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and safety protocols during field investigations and remediation activities.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Effectively communicate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders, providing technical support and addressing vapor intrusion issues and regulatory concerns.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly those related to vapor intrusion, during field activities and project execution.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- BS (MS preferred) in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related degree program.
- Over 8 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on vapor intrusion investigations, mitigation system design, and operation.
- Expertise in vapor intrusion assessment methodologies, including sampling techniques, data analysis, and modeling.
- Extensive experience in the design and operation of vapor intrusion mitigation systems such as SVE, sub-slab depressurization, and air sparging technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks for vapor intrusion, including EPA and state/local guidelines.
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex remediation projects, with strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership.
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and scientifically rigorous reports and presentations.
- OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- A current valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Ability to work in field conditions, lift up to 35 pounds, and work extended hours as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.

The expected compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
