Overview
An experienced Electrical Engineer is sought to provide technical expertise, with potential involvement in management and marketing tasks. This role acts as a senior engineer within the department, focusing on technical development in electrical engineering.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Engineer for projects of varying complexity, both single-discipline and multi-discipline.
- Lead engineering efforts on projects, ensuring coordination with other disciplines.
- Interface with clients and vendors as needed.
- Assist in developing proposals and project documentation, including estimates for engineering manhours and construction costs.
- Conduct inter-discipline reviews and ensure familiarity with related fields.
- Oversee project document completion, collaborating internally and externally with clients and design professionals.
- Review the design team's work, monitoring progress and notifying management of necessary changes.
- Independently perform field measurements and potentially provide training to others.
- Collaborate with code officials and other professionals when building code interpretations or exceptions are required.
- Advocate for and participate in developing design and production standards within the organization.
- Take responsibility for engineering tasks within the electrical discipline for projects.
- Coordinate efforts with other disciplines to ensure project success.
- Provide recommendations or decisions on complex issues as needed.
- Direct and assist colleagues with field measurements.
- Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and project scope.
- Offer construction support and management, directing observation on simpler projects when necessary.
- Contribute to the education and development of design staff, serving as a resource for design inquiries.

- Strong understanding of applicable building codes and the National Electrical Code.
- Commitment to staying current with advancements in the field through continuous education and professional literature.
- Proficient in design software and CAD operations.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.

- Skills in delegating tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent in using PC-based applications, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on electrical engineering is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of consulting or facilities engineering/design experience is preferred.
- A valid PE License is required.
- A valid driver's license is also necessary.
