Electrical Engineer II | Columbus | Cincinnati
Description: Lead the electrical engineering design for lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and advanced systems. Oversee the entire project lifecycle to ensure the quality, efficiency, and reliability of electrical system designs for major clients in healthcare, higher education, and corporate markets. Responsible for managing deliverable timelines, project management, and leading the electrical department team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical system calculations, select equipment, and create layouts, project drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360.
- Estimate construction costs, administer projects, conduct site visits, and coordinate activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and technical staff (engineers, designers, and drafters) from project initiation to completion.
- Adopt a proactive, collaborative approach with project team members at all levels to achieve project and performance goals successfully.
- Ensure quality control for assigned projects and conduct QA/QC reviews for designs by others.
- Meet clients' performance, schedule, and financial goals effectively.
- Participate in client project interviews and collaborate on the development of presentation materials.
- Develop strategies to increase business within existing clients.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
- EIT or PE License preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; BIM360 is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Highly motivated and organized individual with excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to convey knowledge, concepts, and ideas to all levels of a professional environment.
- Experience with business development within existing clients is valued.
- Ability to motivate and develop a team on a project basis and career path.
