Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in the MEP industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in design, analysis, and project management for a variety of commercial, residential, and industrial projects. The role requires proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, as well as a thorough understanding of electrical systems and codes. While a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, it is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design and engineering efforts on MEP projects from inception through completion.
- Perform detailed electrical calculations, load analyses, and system design for lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, data, and communication systems.
- Create and modify electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate and collaborate with project managers, architects, mechanical engineers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met.
- Oversee junior engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Review and approve electrical designs and shop drawings submitted by subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including scope of work, estimates, and timelines.
- Conduct site visits to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise during construction.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with design and implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical design and engineering, preferably within the MEP sector.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical systems design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, local codes, etc.), industry standards, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with energy-efficient systems, renewable energy solutions, and sustainable design practices is a plus.
- PE license (Preferred but not required).
