Role Overview:
The Senior Director, Solution Architect for APAC is responsible for managing the overall technical relationship and strategy between the customer and the organization. This role involves leading architectural design sessions, developing proof of concepts, implementing projects, and delivering ongoing refinement and enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of emerging trends and developments in IT workload, sustainability metrics, and regulatory frameworks to provide technical solutions that meet client requirements.
- Initiate solution-based technical exchanges with prospective clients and develop executable plans to meet clients' technological roadmaps.
- Hold relevant technical experience in planning, research & development, and detailed design for hyperscale Data Centres.
- Lead a multidisciplinary design team in architecture, civil & structure, and Mechanical & Electrical to deliver holistic design solutions in the Data Centre industry.
- Utilize available technology to create strategic visions and blueprints for better solutions.
Main Functions:
- Provide recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions.
- Perform design, debug, and performance analysis on solutions.
- Document and share best practice knowledge for new solutions.
- Advocate for continuous improvement processes.
- Promote new features to both internal and external stakeholders.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to sites to fully appreciate and review the effectiveness of design and engineering solutions to meet sustainability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and speed-to-market standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect across regional metros.
- Electrical or Mechanical Professional Engineer with a practicing certificate (preferred).
- 10+ years in Data Centre design consultancy with at least 5 years in a principal engineer position.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
- Experience in hyperscale Data Centres is a must.
- Proficient in English and Mandarin.
- Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
