Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Development Manager to originate portfolios of utility-scale solar land assets primarily in the PJM markets. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit with exceptional project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Originate portfolios of utility-scale solar land assets
- Manage those portfolios from greenfield/acquisition until they reach the construction and financing phase
- Manage a team of junior developers that are developing DG scale projects.
- Participate or lead due diligence on potential sites for acquisition/development
- Ensure each site has been vetted for environmental impact, interconnection feasibility, mineral title procurement status,
permitting regulations & financial constraints
- Provide recommendations based on viability assessments conducted during vetting process
- Communicates effectively with vendors/partners
- Prioritize work towards meeting deadlines/cost targets/project schedules while maintaining records
Qualifications/Skills required:
* Bachelor's degree (preferably engineering) or equivalent experience within renewable energy sector as developer; minimum five years' experience managing development activities including preparing proposals through commercial operation with focus on origination/portfolio mgmt./project finance/T&D/market analysis etc.; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
* Experience leading cross-functional teams comprised internal stakeholders such as legal/regulatory/commercial/tax/accounting/engineering/etc., external consultants/vendors/service providers/brokers/customer/utility/stakeholders/elected officials/community groups/NGOs/etc.;
* Strong communication/negotiation/presentation/influencing/conflict resolution/facilitation/problem solving skills at all levels both internally&externally along w/solid analytical capabilities particularly using Excel-based models ; willingness to travel frequently.
