Job Overview
We are seeking skilled professionals for the Senior Controls Engineer role based in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this exciting position, you'll be part of our Process & Manufacturing Controls team responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining automated control systems for various industrial clients.
Note: Candidates must live near Raleigh, NC, due to the requirement for on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop industrial process control systems, integrating both new and existing hardware/software.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair control systems as required.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, Servos, and VFDs.
- Ensure compliance with UL 508A control panel construction and design standards.
- Support sales efforts by estimating control hardware costs and labor for potential projects.
Required Qualifications
- Location: Must live near Raleigh, NC, for on-site work.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in design and programming.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in a similar role.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive).
Desired Skills
- Over 8 years of experience in related fields, demonstrating the ability to perform key responsibilities.
- Expertise with Rockwell PLCs and FactoryTalk HMI platforms.
- Familiarity with other platforms like Siemens, Wonderware, and Ignition is advantageous.
- NFPA 70E safety certification.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of power system design, troubleshooting machine-level Ethernet networks, and safety circuit design is a plus.
Work Environment
- Hybrid or on-site work setup, with potential for up to 100% travel to job sites in North Carolina.
- Occasional travel (up to 20%) may be required.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
