Job Title: Senior-Level Geotechnical/Civil/Materials Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior-Level Geotechnical/Civil/Materials Engineer to join our team in Ventura, California. This role involves managing both design and construction inspection projects, with a focus on school and public infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Engineering Manager for laboratory testing and special inspection services on DSA/OSHPD projects.
- Direct, review, and monitor work performed by materials testing and inspection personnel.
- Review field and laboratory reports, as well as plans and specifications.
- Prepare materials testing proposals, including estimating inspection and testing quantities.
- Manage projects from inception through completion, ensuring client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule are met.
- Participate in training and mentoring of staff.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and monitor progress toward performance goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in testing and inspection of construction materials.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in special inspections or supervision of special inspection services.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, think creatively, and solve problems.
- Demonstrated experience with reviewing technical specifications and field/laboratory reports.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. Experience with DSA and OSHPD projects is preferred.
- Experience with Caltrans, AASHTO, and ASTM test methods pertaining to construction materials including HMA, aggregate, soils, steel, masonry, and concrete.
- Experience reviewing concrete/asphalt mix designs.
- Experience overseeing materials testing and inspections.
- Thorough understanding of accreditation policies for relevant agencies including Caltrans, DSA, AMRL, CCRL, IAS, etc.
- Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a strong background and experience in geotechnical engineering.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Registered Civil Engineer (PE) in California or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $120,000 - $200,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
