Job Description:
As a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in flood control and water resources, you will play a key role in operating and maintaining State Plan of Flood Control (SPFC) levees and non-project levees. lead a team, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Manage project teams to efficiently complete client scopes of services.
- Prepare proposals for engineering services.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide responsible charge duties, including signing and sealing documents.
- Mentor and manage the development of staff interested in professional growth within the water utility profession.
- Work on flood control, environmental restoration, reclamation, and project management to support State Plan of Flood Control (SPFC) and non-project levee clients in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Central Valley regions.
- Assist in the design of projects, perform engineering studies, prepare construction documents and engineering calculations, and provide client support for various funding programs.
- Help clients comply with evolving flood control operations and maintenance standards, collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team.
- Prepare detailed written memoranda and reports on technical assignments and present technical information to peers and clients, representing the firm and clients at multiple levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in water/wastewater project management.
- Experience developing construction plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Experience in levee design, erosion control, and permitting.
- Self-motivated, technically competent, client- and solution-focused.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including interpreting complex technical and contractual language.
