Senior Building Envelope Consultant

Position Overview: My client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Building Envelope Consultant to join our client's dynamic team in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building envelope systems, including curtainwalls, roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems. This role requires a forward-thinking professional who can lead projects, provide expert consultation, and ensure the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess building envelope requirements for various projects.
- Assist in the selection of building envelope components, including roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems.
- Critique project schematic drawings and specifications.
- Provide recommendations on building envelope systems and components based on architectural and structural drawings.
- Conduct condition assessments of building envelopes, including site inspections and field testing.
- Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and contractors to provide guidance on building envelope requirements.
- Train and mentor junior staff in consulting, engineering, inspections, and testing.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring they meet requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building envelope consulting, including glass and glazing systems, roofing, and waterproofing systems.
- Strong knowledge of building envelope technologies and alternatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional certifications such as Engineer in Training (EIT), RCI Professional Registrations (RRO, RRC, RWC), or the ability to obtain Professional Engineer or Registered Architect certification is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary:
- Competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $140,000, based on experience and qualifications.
