We're building our project team in Denver, seeking a Senior Associate Architect.
Our work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality, and multi-family; with a focus on industrial and commercial (office, high-rise multifamily) structures. A Senior Associate is a registered Professional Architect and is responsible for understanding all aspects of a project relative to its scope, technical accuracy, potential risk, and client requirements.
Essential Functions
- Act as a technical team member and project lead; strong technical skills in commercial construction are a must, including regional code and building enclosure knowledge.
- Strong communication skills are a necessity.
- Key functions include collaboration with the client, internal team, consultants, and site contact; ultimately be responsible for an overall understanding of their project.
- Review and analyze building construction and condition.
- Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets.
- Perform building evaluations and construction monitoring.
- Forensic experience is a plus.
- Preparation of formal reports.
- Strong writing skills.
- Build relationships and develop business.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in architecture or related field required.
- Minimum 15 years' industry-related experience at an architecture, engineering, or construction company.
- Registered as a Professional.
- Technical level of understanding of building types in order to perform services of the organization with limited supervision.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequence, and activities.
- Construction administration experience.
- Solid understanding of building materials and methods.
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High-level organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of construction contract types and forms.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) is a plus.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Box; knowledge of Plan Grid is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates leadership skills.
- Desire for potential growth in leadership and management is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 25-50% in and out of state.
Physical Requirements
Candidates should have the ability to:
- Operate a computer (keyboarding) and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier/scanner/printer.
- Use visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain.
- See and respond to dangerous situations.
- Respond quickly to sounds.
- Ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
- Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas.
- Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both in and out of state.

Pay range for this role is expected to be in the range of $120,000 to $145,000/year.
