Our client, a well-established engineering firm in Virginia, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Associate specializing in Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) Modeling to join their team. This role combines technical leadership in water resources with business development responsibilities, allowing the candidate to lead technical efforts on advanced projects while contributing to the firm's growth in the marketplace. The position offers flexibility to work in Virginia Beach, Northern Virginia, or Richmond, Virginia.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in H&H modeling, utilizing tools like HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS, and a proven ability to foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater, floodplain, and watershed projects using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other industry-standard tools.
- Lead the technical development and application of models to analyze water systems and design engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations to support project delivery and business development.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key clients and stakeholders to identify and secure new project opportunities.
- Collaborate with the business development team to create marketing strategies and technical content that highlight the firm's expertise in H&H modeling.
- Ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, especially in Virginia.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia required.
- 10+ years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, with a strong focus on stormwater management, floodplain mapping, and watershed studies.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, including cultivating client relationships, responding to RFPs, and contributing to proposal development.
- Expertise in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other relevant modeling software (e.g., XP-SWMM, InfoWorks, or similar).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS-based tools for water resources applications.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and managing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team collaboration.
