We are looking for a SCADA Developer to join our dynamic team based in Charlotte, NC, in the industrial automation sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SCADA development, particularly with Ignition, and will be proficient in creating and maintaining real-time industrial automation solutions. Ignition CORE or Gold Certification will be highly valued, but expertise in other SCADA platforms such as Wonderware AVEVA, FactoryTalk View, WinCC, and iFIX will also be considered. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain SCADA applications using Ignition or other SCADA platforms to support industrial automation processes, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Configure and integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, field devices, and industrial control systems to enable efficient data collection and control.
- Develop HMI/Visualization screens for real-time data monitoring and reporting, improving user interaction and operational decision-making.
- Implement and optimize real-time data analytics, data logging, and historian databases to support actionable insights and long-term process improvements.
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs within SCADA systems to ensure accurate operation of industrial processes and equipment.
- Work closely with engineering teams and project managers to deliver SCADA solutions that meet project specifications and objectives.
- Use Ignition scripting (Python) to automate tasks and develop custom functionality within SCADA systems.
- Ensure system security and data integrity by applying industry best practices for SCADA cybersecurity and control system protection.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and bugs, ensuring uptime and operational efficiency of industrial automation systems.
- Test and commission SCADA systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and high-quality standards.
- Stay current on new technologies and trends in industrial automation, IIoT, and SCADA systems to ensure continuous system optimization.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Ignition SCADA experience, including proficiency in Vision, Perspective, MQTT, and Ignition scripting (Python). Ignition CORE or Gold Certification is highly preferred.
- Experience with Wonderware AVEVA, FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or iFIX is a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, DNP3, and BACnet.
- Familiarity with PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and the ability to integrate these systems into SCADA platforms for real-time control and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of SQL databases and their integration with SCADA systems for data logging, reporting, and querying.
- Experience in HMI design and alarm management best practices within SCADA applications.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SCADA systems and the integration of SCADA platforms with cloud services for remote access and monitoring is a plus.
