Safety Manager - Renewable Energy Sector
Are you passionate about ensuring safety excellence in the renewable energy industry? We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to lead our organization in implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs across corporate, construction, and operational environments. This pivotal role can be based out of either our Houston, TX or Princeton, NJ office locations.
Job Functions:
- Safety Policy Development: Develop and oversee safety policies and procedures tailored to corporate offices, construction sites, and operational facilities.
- Safety Training Programs: Design, implement, and monitor effective safety training initiatives to promote a safe work environment.
- Emergency Preparedness: Create plans and policies for emergency response, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the proper use of protective equipment.
- Incident Analysis and Prevention: Collect and analyze data on accidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations across all organizational locations.
- Safety Audits: Conduct periodic safety audits at offices, operational facilities, and construction sites to assess adherence to safety standards and recommend improvements.
Required Skills/ Knowledge:
- Initiative and Teamwork: Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively as a team player to build consensus among internal and external stakeholders.
- Multitasking in Fast-paced Environments: Ability to manage multiple tasks and issues simultaneously at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Regulatory Expertise: Specialized knowledge of federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
- Safety Orientation: Ability to recognize workplace hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Education/Experience:
- 5-7 years of direct experience in safety management within the renewable energy or power plant industries.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Environmental Sciences, Safety Management, or a related scientific field.
- OSHA certification is required; Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
