What You'll Do:
- Work on a variety of transportation projects, including traffic operations, safety, roadway design, bridge design, transportation planning, and environmental considerations.
- Manage the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for both major and minor projects.
- Lead the development and review of preliminary and final plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
- Support the bidding and administration process for contracts as needed.
- Supervise and observe the ongoing design and progress of projects, ensuring coordination with local City, State, and County officials, as well as other agencies.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical support staff, helping them grow and succeed.
- Serve as a point of contact between clients, contractors, consultants, and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Resolve complex issues, such as conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination challenges.
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
- 5-10 years of experience in the transportation industry, ideally within Kentucky.
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is required.
- Strong experience with DOT projects is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in key software systems, including HCS, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, CORSIM, VISSIM, CUBE, TransCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office.
