Roadway Design Engineer Wanted!
Our client, a top engineering firm based in Virginia, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced mid-level roadway design engineer to join their team in either Fairfax, Richmond, or Roanoke. As a company that specializes in providing innovative infrastructure solutions for various industries, our client is looking to grow their team to handle the influx of projects to keep work life balance a PRIORITY
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification related to Civil Engineering
- Relevant experience working with highway design projects using OpenRoads and Microstation
- PE Preferred, EIT and ability to obtain PE in 6 months
- 5+ years of related experience
Responsibilities:
- Design and assessment of transportation infrastructure.
- Oversee various projects, including the creation of new roadways, widening projects, resurfacing initiatives, and enhancements for multiple modes of transportation.
- Mentor younger Engineers
- Conduct design and assessment tasks for both horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Develop plan, profile, cross-section, and detailed sheets as part of project documentation.
- Formulate temporary traffic control plans for construction projects.
- Perform quantity calculations and generate estimates for construction costs.
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation and specification packages.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to devise innovative solutions to design obstacles.
