Job Opportunity: Geologist Project Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Geologist Project Manager in our Environmental Department, with locations available in Austin and San Antonio. The successful candidate will oversee the entire project management of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. This role involves working with a variety of property types, including undeveloped land, agricultural, residential, multi-family, retail, and commercial/industrial. The Environmental Project Manager will coordinate drilling, sample/data collection, subcontractor tasks, data evaluation, and the compilation of written reports for submission to clients and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and conduct Phase II Environmental Site Assessment projects in line with industry best practices.
Develop and update project proposals across various locations.
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to inform project planning and design.
Prepare cost estimates, proposals, and invoices.
Ensure projects meet budget and schedule requirements.
Maintain high-quality standards for project deliverables and outcomes.
Address and resolve issues as they arise during the project lifecycle.
Respond promptly to client inquiries and requests.
Organize and manage client-provided documents and files.
Communicate effectively with clients and owner representatives.
Schedule site visits and other necessary fieldwork.
Handle special client requests related to report formats and billing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, consulting, or a similar role within an A/E/C firm.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Proficiency in evaluating sites under the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) and/or the Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) Program.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Capability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) Certification.
Licensed Professional Geoscientist (PG) or Professional Engineer (P.E.).
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and certification.
Strong local networking and client relationships.
Ability to cross-sell between internal service lines.
