Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with 2-3 years of experience in substation or light rail projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of project estimation, cost analysis, and budgeting within the infrastructure sector. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive project estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates for substation or light rail projects.
Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate quantity takeoffs.
Collaborate with project teams to identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
Prepare detailed and itemized cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant data for accurate estimation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
Participate in post-bid reviews and analysis to continuously improve the estimation process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in estimating substation or light rail projects.
Proficiency in at least one of the following software tools is preferred: Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel, Smartsheets. We are flexible with software proficiency.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to substation or light rail construction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications (e.g., AACE, PMP) are a plus.
Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
