The Opportunity
The company is seeking a highly motivated forensic engineer to join them as a Midwest regional manager. Although based in the South, the company services a range of clients in the Midwest and are seeking a leader to further build out their presence in the Midwest. If you are an experienced forensic engineer who is keen to grow out your client base and have a tangible impact on the progression of a well regarded and dynamic forensics company, this is the role for you.
Role and Responsibilities
- Fieldwork to document as-built conditions and extent of damage to structures as a result of natural (wind, water, fire, earth movement, etc.) and/or human induced origins (design and construction errors/omissions). Natural events can include large catastrophes such as regional floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, freeze and earthquakes.
- Evaluate conceptual and detailed repair estimates for scope and pricing accuracy.
- Understanding of historical data and pricing for the development and or evaluation of repair and replacement cost estimates.
- Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate.
- Identify costs and associated potential hidden exposure/risk to develop rough order of magnitude cost estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of work scopes, instructions to bidders, bid forms or solicitation of relevant information, as needed.
- Perform research to support opinions.
- Communicate with Clients, interface with Governing Officials, Contractors and Consultants.
- Retention and development of Client relationships.
- Willing to travel, as needed, on short notice at times
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 7+ years' experience in Forensic Engineering, residential investigation preferrable
- Experience providing litigation support services required - Expert Witness/Trial Testimony experience a huge plus.
- Willingness to travel 2 days a week, during busy periods could be more - proximity to an airport is crucial

- Base Salary - $120,000 - $150,000
