Role Overview:
This is an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to establish and lead the regional presence for a premier consulting engineering firm. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- P.E. License with 7+ years of relevant experience in concrete construction, repair, restoration, or forensic investigation, or 12+ years of relevant concrete design experience (without a P.E. license) and 7+ years of relevant concrete restoration/forensic experience.
- Proven experience in forensic and restoration engineering for existing parking structures of all construction types.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience with non-destructive testing equipment such as ground penetrating radar, half-cell potential, and similar diagnostic tools.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, building materials, equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, OSHA, and relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel required 50%+ of the time.
- Survey and evaluate existing structures for maintenance and repair needs, and prepare associated inspection reports for customers and Territory Managers.
- Communicate assessments and follow-up plans with business development colleagues and assist in conveying technical concepts to clients.
- Engineer all structural repairs within the assigned territory.
- Review calculations, structural drawings, and construction documents, and address related questions as needed, seeking technical advice from the Senior Director when necessary.
- Research building codes and specifications as required.
- Provide technical sales support to Business Development Representatives for prospective customers and existing clients.
- Offer technical advice and guidance to project personnel and subcontractors, with site visits during active projects to ensure repair methods are followed.
- Attend technical seminars and training programs to maintain and enhance subject matter expertise.
- Develop and enhance customer relationships through excellent service and problem-solving abilities.
- Assist in the development and training of engineering colleagues, which may include direct supervision and management.
