Position Overview: As a Public Works Estimator, you will play a critical role in planning, budgeting, and managing public infrastructure projects. Your expertise will help ensure that their projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for public works projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
- Utilize HCSS (Heavy Construction Systems Specialist) software to develop comprehensive project estimates.
- Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine project scope and cost.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Monitor project costs and budget adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide cost analysis and recommendations for project modifications and value engineering.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Experience Needed:
- Proven experience as an estimator in public works or related construction projects.
- Proficiency in HCSS software and other estimating tools.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Experience with cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in public works projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
