We have a current opportunity for a Project Structural Engineer on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ professional judgment to independently carry out engineering tasks, adhering to established federal, state, and local criteria.
- Execute major design assignments, particularly focused on Water/Wastewater and Utility projects, emphasizing concrete, masonry, and steel design.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical, schedule, or financial issues through effective communication with Project Manager or other management personnel.
- Assist clients in bidding or contractor selection under Project Manager authorization.
- Monitor construction progress, overseeing field personnel, data collection, or specific project tasks.
- Address contractor inquiries, resolve issues, and issue project addenda as necessary.
- Recommend and prepare change orders, with Project Manager authorization.
- Contribute to engineering services proposals, estimating time schedules and costs.
- Sign and seal engineering documents as an authorized company representative.
- Independently engage with clients on technical matters.
- Assign and manage tasks and schedules to Staff Engineer (I/II) and non-exempt project team members under Project Manager direction.
- Provide mentoring and technical leadership to develop expertise within the organization.
- Actively participate in relevant technical and professional associations.
- Support business development efforts when technical expertise is crucial to securing future projects.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university in a relevant discipline (civil with a structural specialty, structural, architectural, etc.).
- Professionally registered (P.E.) or ability to obtain registration within six months.
- Possess 10 or more years of design/engineering experience and demonstrated capability to sign engineering documents as an authorized agent of the company.
