Position Overview: As a Heavy Civil Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and completion of complex civil engineering projects. Your expertise will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and management of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, and large-scale utilities.
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Review and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and blueprints to support project execution.
- Monitor project progress, perform site inspections, and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, change orders, and submittals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience Needed:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer on heavy civil or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management.
- Experience with construction software and tools, including scheduling and estimating programs.
- Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards in heavy civil projects.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Project Engineer in heavy civil construction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, or similar).
