Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Transportation Design Engineer to contribute to our ambitious projects in the Chicago area. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing transportation systems that improve safety, efficiency, and accessibility.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects, including roadways, intersections, highways, and transit systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
- Conduct engineering analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, architects, and environmental specialists, to integrate design elements effectively.
- Evaluate existing transportation systems and propose improvements based on thorough analysis and research.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- (EIT) or ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
- 3+ years of experience in transportation design and engineering, with a focus on urban infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating with clients and stakeholders is desirable.
