A firm is seeking a talented Project Architect with a strong background in Science & Technology projects to join their team in Alexandria, VA. This role offers an opportunity to lead the design and execution of complex research, laboratory, and technology-driven facilities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design development, construction documentation, and coordination for science & technology projects, including laboratories, R&D centers, cleanrooms, and high-tech facilities.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure functional, technical, and aesthetic excellence.
- Integrate cutting-edge building technologies, sustainability strategies, and industry best practices into design solutions.
- Oversee code compliance, quality control, and technical detailing throughout all project phases.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to develop innovative and adaptable building systems.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Architect (or on track for licensure).
- 7+ years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on science, research, or technology-driven projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and visualization tools (Enscape, Rhino, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of laboratory planning, high-performance building systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design frameworks preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
