A prominent civil consulting firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead its surveying and mapping operations in Lansing or Grand Rapids. This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee a dynamic team and ensure the delivery of high-quality surveying services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a variety of surveying and mapping projects, including topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and construction staking.
- Utilize advanced technologies such as LiDAR mapping, drones, GPS, and traditional surveying methods.
- Oversee daily operations, coordinating both field survey activities and office tasks like field note reduction, traverse adjustments, and topographic map preparation.
- Promote and integrate innovative Survey, Mapping, and Geomatics technologies.
Qualifications:
- PLS certification in Michigan.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in land surveying.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- Business development experience is a plus.
