Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Sacramento, California
Salary Range: $175k-200k annually (negotiable based on experience, skillset, and certifications)
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage geotechnical engineering investigations and studies.
- Collaborate with clients, including owners, architects, and other design professionals to determine project needs.
- Prepare scopes of service, proposals, and budget estimates.
- Work closely with project management and field staff to provide technical recommendations.
- Train, mentor, and guide graduate professionals.
- Analyze field and laboratory data.
- Prepare and review geotechnical engineering reports.
- Conduct geotechnical plan reviews, business development, and attend project design and construction meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- California PE registration required; GE registration required or obtainable within 12 months.
- 6+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or a closely related discipline preferred.
- Strong preference for California project experience, including schools and hospitals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities.
- Effective team collaboration skills.
- Valid California Driver's License and clean DMV report.
- Willingness to assist with business development and market to new clients.
