Job Summary: They are seeking a highly experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Atlanta. The successful candidate will lead geotechnical engineering projects, provide technical expertise, and oversee a team of engineers and technicians. This role requires a deep understanding of geotechnical principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct site investigations, soil and rock analyses, and geotechnical assessments.
- Design foundations, slopes, earth retention systems, and other geotechnical structures.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project presentations.
- Provide technical direction and oversight for geotechnical aspects of projects.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop integrated project solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to achieve project milestones.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
- Drive the implementation of best practices and innovative methodologies in geotechnical engineering.
- Participate in business development activities and client liaison.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record in project management and team leadership.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Deep understanding of geotechnical design methods, site investigation techniques, and soil mechanics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
