We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our esteemed 50+ year old geotechnical firm in San Francisco, CA. This role is crucial for driving business development and managing projects in the water infrastructure and transportation sectors. Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the water infrastructure and transportation sectors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to secure new projects.
- Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and business plans.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert geotechnical input for engineering projects, including foundation design, slope stability, and soil-structure interaction.
- Oversee site investigations, including soil sampling, testing, and analysis.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Team Collaboration:
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on business development and project management.
- Strong technical expertise in geotechnical analysis, design, and project management.
- Proven experience in business development and client relationship management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools.
