Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced PLC Engineer to design, program, test, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for custom automation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing control systems that meet and exceed customer requirements. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical and mechanical engineers, software developers, and proposal engineers, to ensure successful implementation and integration of control system solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PLC/Loop Controller systems based on project specifications.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs and Loop Controllers from manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, Modicon (Schneider Electric), Siemens, and more.
- Develop and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface) terminals for user interaction with controllers.
- Document control system designs and track modifications for future reference.
- Participate in the performance testing, commissioning, and startup phases of projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and proposal engineers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of systems.
- Familiarity with combustion control systems and concepts, such as Burner Management Systems, Drum Level Control, Draft Control, and Fuel-Air Ratio Control.
- Travel for meetings and site visits up to 10%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- Experience working with PLCs.
- Proficiency in programming PLCs using ladder logic (LL), function block diagrams (FBD), and other relevant programming languages.
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience in HMI design and programming.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems (e.g., IFIX, Citect, Ignition SCADA).
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to train the right individual.
