My client is a fast-growing and established global IPP, developing, owning, and operating renewable energy and traditional power generation assets across various continents. They've especially been ramping up their presence here in the US, with strong backing from a leading investor in the renewable space.
They are now seeking a Permitting Manager to join their Project/Business Development team, to play a critical role in driving the company's strategic growth by ensuring that all regulatory, environmental, and land-use permits are secured in a timely and efficient manner, for both new and ongoing projects. This position will report to the Director of Permitting, working closely with leadership to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, coordinating with various stakeholders (government agencies, environmental bodies, community groups), and leading the permitting strategy to enable smooth project execution.
Additional Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all permitting and environmental aspects for development and acquisition of renewable generation projects across multiple geographies, from initial project inception through start of construction
- Support multiple projects with multifaceted environmental and regulatory issues, and effectively communicate requirements and recommendations to management
- Develop and lead permitting strategies, including detailed schedules and budgets, for obtaining all required federal, state, and local permits and approvals
Ideal Criteria includes but is not limited to:
- 5+ years of work experience in environmental permitting across renewable energy or related industry
- Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, storage, or transmission line projects across various US territories
- Deep understanding of relevant state and federal permitting and wildlife regulations including but not limited to NEPA, ESA, NHPA, MBTA, BGEPA, and CWA
- Proven track record of working with local, state, federal land management agencies, environmental NGOs, or Native American tribes
This opportunity can be fully remote, although company headquarters are based in Houston, TX.
An incredible opportunity for someone who is eager to join an IPP with ambitious growth targets, committed to longevity here in the US. And yet, is prepared for a fast-paced environment, access to collaborating with leadership/executives, and taking initiative to play a role in expanding their success. Please don't hesitate to apply today or share with your network!
