Title: Party Chief
Salary: $85,000 - $105,000
Summary: A National Firm with offices throughout the US is looking to bring on a party chief to join their rapidly-growing and tight-knit land surveying team!
Your Role:
- Support surveying/mapping, GIS, and Civil Engineering activities.
- Handle projects including site development, roadway and utility designs, and industrial/military facilities.
- Collect survey data per industry and client specifications.
- Learn new techniques and operate equipment efficiently.
- Provide technical assistance to CADD operators and design staff.
- Coordinate site visits with project team personnel.
- Work within a project team under a Lead Surveyor's direction.
- Coordinate with project engineers and designers to ensure project deliverables meet standards.
- Perform survey office work such as mapping under a licensed land surveyor's direction.
- Act as Survey Party Chief, directing survey crews to meet field safety and efficiency requirements.
- Train as a survey field technician for topographic, boundary, construction, and GPS control surveys.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Strongly encouraged to have completed college-level studies in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying.
- LSIT certification in California (or ability to obtain within six months) is preferred, but not required.
- 2+years of hands-on experience in field surveying and/or Auto-CAD Civil 3D.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license.
- Prior coursework related to surveying is beneficial, but not required.
- Preferably experienced in civil engineering with familiarity with municipal and/or state projects.
- Expertise in Auto-CAD Civil 3D and Autodesk software is essential.
- Knowledge of Microstation, word processing, and scheduling tools is a plus.
- Understanding of survey data collection techniques and processing methods.
- Enthusiasm for new technologies, including UAS surveys and laser scanning, is a plus.
