We are seeking an experienced and proactive Onshore Wind Permit Manager to join our client in Taiwan. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the permitting process for onshore wind projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including local authorities, environmental agencies, and project development teams, to secure necessary permits and approvals to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Permitting Strategy Development: Develop and implement permitting strategies for onshore wind projects in compliance with Taiwanese laws and regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with local authorities, regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, and landowners to facilitate the permitting process.
- Permit Application Management: Prepare, submit, and manage all necessary permit applications (e.g., environmental, construction, and land use) for onshore wind projects.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all permits and activities comply with local environmental and regulatory standards, including environmental impact assessments (EIA) and land use planning.
- Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify and assess potential permitting risks or delays, working with internal teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of permitting processes, applications, and approvals. Provide regular status updates to senior management and project teams.
- Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with development, engineering, and construction teams to ensure that permitting requirements are met in project timelines.
- Community Relations: Engage with local communities to manage concerns and expectations related to wind farm development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in permitting, environmental impact assessment, or regulatory affairs in the energy sector.
- Prior experience working on onshore wind projects in Taiwan is highly preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Taiwan's environmental laws, land use regulations, and permitting processes related to renewable energy projects.
- Languages: Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong experience working with local authorities, environmental agencies, and community representatives.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple permits and timelines across different stages of project development.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee and resolve permitting challenges.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
