Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:
We are a dynamic, employee-owned consulting firm seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on diverse facilities engineering and design projects across various industries, including educational, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, government, and aviation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Manage projects from initial design through construction and commissioning, ensuring all project objectives are met, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Engineering Calculations: Perform detailed engineering calculations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, and code reviews to determine the best mechanical design solutions.
- Design Documentation: Produce and ensure quality control for mechanical/plumbing design documents, including drawings and specifications for bidding and construction.
- Coordination: Coordinate designs with client specifications and local, city, and state code requirements, including interaction with code officials and permitting offices.
- Field Investigations: Conduct and lead field investigations to assess existing conditions and gather data for design purposes.
- Team Leadership: Oversee the design and drafting tasks of junior engineering staff, providing mentorship and performing quality control reviews of design documents.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, participating in presentations, coordination, and marketing efforts.
- Problem Solving: Navigate complex issues in both preparing mechanical designs and assisting the Owner/Architect/Contractor with construction issues in the field.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited University program.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred).
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment across multiple disciplines and geographic locations.
