Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the MEP industry. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in mechanical systems design, with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. The role will involve assisting with the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems for a variety of commercial, residential, and industrial projects. While an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, it is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy systems.
- Create and modify mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform load calculations, system sizing, and analysis for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure mechanical designs meet project goals and technical requirements.
- Conduct site visits to inspect mechanical systems installation and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Support senior engineers in preparing technical documents, project reports, and project cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with relevant mechanical codes, industry standards (ASHRAE, NEC, local codes), and sustainability guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including scope of work, design concepts, and cost estimates.
- Provide technical support and coordination with contractors throughout project execution.
- Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and sustainable design practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the MEP sector.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical systems design.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and energy management systems.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical codes, industry standards (ASHRAE, NEC, local building codes), and sustainable design principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience with energy modeling or sustainable design (LEED, WELL) is a plus.
