We are looking for a driven and talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team. A successful candidate will have extensive experience in overseeing and directing the design of mechanical and facilities-related projects. This position is based in Sacramento, CA. It offers a hybrid work environment allowing 2-3 remote days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering designs, including master planning and studies for HVAC systems, HVAC and plumbing systems, co-generation mechanical systems, and projects focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green buildings. These designs will range from basic to moderate complexity to meet client needs.
- Review preliminary designs to ensure they comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to company policies and practices.
- Conduct site visits and studies to ensure designs meet location specifications, updating requirements as needed.
- Contribute to the company's technical knowledge base by creating white papers and technical documentation for new or unique designs and studies.
- Submit technical papers and designs for publication in technical journals.
- Attend industry conferences to enhance the visibility of the company's products and services, working with sales staff as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Additional directly related experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
- Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required by the job. The frequency of travel will depend on specific job duties, responsibilities, and workload.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Desired certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license in mechanical engineering.
