They are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer with expertise in cable-related systems to join their team and support offshore wind projects.
Job Summary: The Marine Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and installation of subsea cables in offshore wind projects. This role requires proficiency in using OrcaFlex software, strong knowledge of mechanical behavior of cables, and experience in analyzing weather data to ensure the successful deployment and stability of cable systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed design and analysis of subsea cables using OrcaFlex software.
- Analyze weather data to inform installation and operational decisions.
- Evaluate mechanical behaviors of cables, including bending stiffness, axial stiffness, torsion stiffness, and side wall pressure.
- Perform installation analysis, including on-bottom stability, global analysis, and fatigue analysis to ensure the integrity and reliability of cable systems.
- Participate in the Cable Protection System (CPS) design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of offshore wind projects.
- Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases.
- Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine engineering, with a focus on offshore wind projects and subsea cable systems.
- Proficiency in using OrcaFlex software for cable analysis.
- Strong understanding of mechanical behaviors of cables and relevant parameters (bending stiffness, axial stiffness, torsion stiffness, side wall pressure, etc.).
- Experience in analyzing weather data and its impact on marine operations.
- Knowledge of installation analysis techniques, including on-bottom stability, global analysis, and fatigue analysis.
- Familiarity with the CPS design process and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
