Licensing Engineer
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations? A leading organization in the energy sector is seeking a Licensing Engineer to join their team and oversee operations related to Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI).
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to regulatory correspondence, including requests from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting ISFSI operations.
- Develop and maintain procedures, such as the Aging Management Program and Fire Protection Program.
- Prepare spent fuel records and support offsite fuel transfers.
- Conduct evaluations of activities under 10 CFR 72.48 and 10 CFR 50.59.
- Manage and coordinate Work Orders and ensure adherence to regulatory commitments.
- Perform reviews and submit License Amendment Requests when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable NRC guidelines and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field related to nuclear science (experience may substitute for academic qualifications).
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Professional, and technical writing. Familiarity with Chapter 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license, SRO, RO, or other nuclear power-related credentials are a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive, regulatory environment.
